Spring CLM -- the best opportunity for volunteer leaders to meet, network, and share best practices, common hardships, and collaborative planning.

It is part of your chapter's rating to send at least one senior volunteer leader (more are always welcome) so that information can be communicated back to your local chapter for implementation.

Led by the Seattle chapter, this session will discuss manners and methods for peer volunteers to connect across chapters (ie, program chair to program chair) as a way to regularly share ideas and practices and strengthen both individual chapters and the Enterprise Forum as a whole.

Over the 30 years of the Enterprise Forum, there have been many success stories -- companies who presented and made it big, startups created from entrepreneurs meeting during a networking session, etc.

Come prepared with your chapter's success stories! Ask your fellow volunteers and have it written down. We'll discuss how best to use this information to tell the story of the Enterprise Forum and help promote our organization in your region.

Jointly led by the Cambridge and Bay Area chapters, this session takes you through the important steps and practices to help your Chapter Executive Board perform at their best. Everything from the nominating process to new member orientation to roles and responsibilities will be discussed in depth. Because a happy Board is a productive Board!

Global Board member Luda Kopeikina will update everyone on the work of the Board's Strategic Committee as well as solicit feedback on the results that have been found so far.

The Enterprise Forum Elevator Pitch: $elling $ponsors

Time for some role play! Share your chapter's quick pitch story that will allow you to land a meeting with a potential sponsor. Come prepared to tell your chapter's unique selling position to a fellow volunteer playing the role of the curmudgeonly law firm.

3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The Sizzle AND The Steak: Hot Programs and Topics

Why does our audience attend an Enterprise Forum event as opposed to one of our competing organizations? The content of our programs. In this session, we'll take our compiled list of the chapters' best programs and discuss why they were successful and what information other chapters could use to duplicate the success in their region. Areas to be focused on will include topics, titles, speakers, marketing efforts and more.

Conference Summary and Wrap-Up

An overview of the weekend and the topics covered, as well as a look at next steps.

Speaker Bios

Bo Fishback Bo Fishback is vice president of entrepreneurship for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. In this capacity his responsibilities include developing and advancing transformative programs that strengthen entrepreneurial engagement in the economy and help entrepreneurs succeed.

Fishback joined the Kauffman Foundation in 2006 as a director in the advancing innovation area, where he studied the country's best business accelerators and university-based commercialization programs. In 2007, he joined the Kansas City-based BioMed Valley Discoveries, a translational research and development organization affiliated with the Stowers Institute whose mission is to translate basic biomedical research into applications that improve human health.

Fishback is a co-founder of Lightspeed Genomics, a next generation, genome sequencing company that was spun-out of a research program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and he has worked with a variety of start-ups in the life science and high tech spaces. Previously, he was a consultant with Puretech Ventures in Boston, and before that, he served as director of IQHealth for Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, where he led a team of application developers, designers, and product managers in the creation of web-based health tools.

Fishback received his bachelor of science degree in biomedical engineering from Southern Methodist University and earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

 

Peter ZakPeter Zak is a designer and brand design consultant, who has worked for brands such as Walmart's Great Value, Glad, Kraft, Advil and others. He teaches Package Design at York University.

Peter collaborates with the Schulich School of Business MBA Program to partner Business and Design students into multi-disciplinary innovation teams. Peter has been involved in branding projects involving a variety of organizations, including non-profit groups, educational institutions and the Canadian manufacturing sector. His work and research are focused on the exploration of the power of design and branding to communicate and affect human behavior.

Patrick RobinsonPatrick Robinson is associate partner of production for Grip Limited, a Tronto advertising agency. Previosulu, Patrick was general manager of AmoebaCorp., part of john st. advertising, a creative and strategic advertising agency and the agency of record for brands such as Fujifilm, Tetley, Mens Warehouse, AstraZeneca, and most recently, the Bay, Canada 's oldest retailer.

Throughout his 15 year career, Patrick has been an entrepreneur, team-builder and a consultant for creative and business growth strategies. He is a strong advocate of the benefits of integrating emerging technologies into work flows in all graphic arts services, including printing, pre-media
production, advertising and design.

Patrick has been teaching Studio Management for six years, and is an active member of the Registered Graphic Designers Association (RGD).

Toby Wilson WaterworthToby Wilson Waterworth is a UK Chartered Accountant and has extensive experience in developing and funding technology businesses and groups. He has held senior board positions in both quoted and unquoted companies, having been involved in transactions valued in excess of $300 million, raising funding in excess of $200m.

In 1992 he was involved in the UK merger and acquisition activity for Robannic NV to build an international group of companies supplying packaging and control equipment to the global pharmaceutical industry. In 1994 he joined Chiroscience Group plc when it floated on the London Stock Exchange and was involved in a period of high growth, M&A and fundraising (raising $80 million) prior to its sale to Celltech plc. He joined biopharmaceutical company Alizyme plc in 1996 when it floated on AIM and was part of a small team running one of the first "virtual" biopharmaceutical companies in Europe, raising $70m over a five year period and overseeing its admission to the Official List on the London Stock Exchange at a value of $400 million. Since then he has been involved in the start-up, M&A, IPO, development and funding of a number of businesses, including Atlantic Healthcare, Novexin, Astron Clinica, HD Clinical and AIM listed Bango plc and Lipoxen plc.

Toby is also a Global Dealmaker in healthcare and advisor to the British Government.
