Student GroupsAs MIT's most valuable resource, students have the opportunity to become involved with numerous organizations dedicated to enhancing their experience and education. MIT $100K Entrepreneurship CompetitionThe MIT 100K Entrepreneurship Competition is the leading business plan competition in the world. The competition was founded in 1990 to encourage students and researchers in the MIT community to act on their talent, ideas and energy to produce tomorrow's leading firms. Entirely student-managed, the competition has produced hundreds of successful ventures that have created value and employment. MIT Global Startup WorkshopThe MIT Global Startup Workshop (GSW) is the world's premier conference on fostering entrepreneurship through supportive and catalytic infrastructure such as that epitomized by MIT's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Each year, roughly 30 MIT students organize the 3-day conference in close collaboration with partners from a different host country in order to discuss practical steps that can be taken by students, academic faculty, venture capitalists, government leaders, entrepreneurs, and top business leaders. This event provides an unrivaled opportunity to share best practices for fostering and supporting entrepreneurs within and between different regions and for contributing to the global network of entrepreneurial support organizations. MIT Entrepreneurs ClubThe E-Club was formed in 1988 to serve MIT and Harvard students, faculty, staff, alumni and select professionals. Members represent a range of experience and backgrounds including business, engineering, arts and sciences. Many MIT and Harvard startups have recruited club members as $100K team members, co-founding partners, and equity-sharing employees. The E-Club provides practice sessions for presenters, networking opportunities for current and potential team members, market research, seed and other funding research and matchmaking, all the way through to conflict resolution and post-mortems. MIT Energy ClubFounded in 2004, the MIT Energy Club seeks to bring together and educate the MIT energy science, technology, policy, and business communities through initiatives focused on understanding the global energy challenge through fact-based analysis and education. MIT Science and Engineering Business ClubThe Science and Engineering Business Club (SEBC) provides undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral members of MIT an incredible selection of events featuring speakers and panelists who explore how to achieve a strong business career with a science and engineering background. SEBC also regularly hosts networking events so that students and industry leaders can mingle and make contacts that would be otherwise unattainable. MIT Innovation ClubThe MIT Innovation Club seeks to understand innovation as a science and practice of generating and implementing new ideas. The Club was founded to celebrate over 130 years of MIT innovation and to challenge the students of today to keep inventing the future. In this pursuit, the Club engages students, faculty, and the business community through interactive programs such as IdeaExchange brainstorms, Tech Testbeds, Innovation Experiments, and more. The Club helps its members generate innovative ideas, commercialize new technologies, and develop the skills that can make a difference between success and failure in a start-up or an established company. The balance of our intellectual and practical endeavors makes us the Club that is very much about "where ideas come from." MIT Venture Capital & Private Equity ClubThe MIT Venture Capital & Private Equity Club (VCPE) is one of MIT’s most visible cross-campus organizations. The Club is focused on expanding the reach and effectiveness of our partners. VCPE delivers relationships, visibility, and tailor-made initiatives to our partners looking to build and maintain their valuable connections to MIT’s innovation ecosystem. VCPE has a proven track record of developing new projects, identifying and matching talent, and successfully helping drive MIT-generated technology towards commercialization. MIT TechLinkMIT TechLink is a networking organization for graduate students across all areas at MIT. The mission of TechLink is to bring graduate students, alumni, and professionals to learn from and collaborate with each other, explore new research, and foster innovative and entrepreneurial ideas. With more than 1400 members, TechLink is the largest intercollegiate cross-disciplinary student organization in the MIT community. MIT Entrepreneurship SocietyThe E Society's mission is to establish an entrepreneurial support network among MIT students and recent alumni, and to promote productive interaction with MIT faculty, staff, students, and MIT-related new ventures.
